The Royal Welsh Show 2009.
In spite of two wet days & plenty of mud, we had a very successful 4 days at the Royal Welsh.
First of all we would like to thank The Royal Welsh Show Society for the excellent support we have had for many years. Thanks to all who entered the static Ironwork section, old faithful's like Richard Jones & newcomers Simon Grant Jones and Keith Mahoney.
There were fewer entries from Hereford College, the students combined their work in a joint project which was immovable, however we had entries from Warwick College etc. and overall we had quite a number of pieces of high standard.
We were pleased to have Paul Allen as a judge, our thanks to him and his Wife.
In the live junior section we had more entries than ever before- mostly from Wales which is encouraging, the seniors put on a good show, as well as Dave Perks - commentary keeping the public interested.
Our thanks to Richard, Simon, Keith and James (Crossman) for lending their muscle power for the final clearing up at the end of the show.
We were glad to welcome David Price back to the Royal Welsh to judge the live competition.
The Prime Warden Keith Gabriel of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths attended the show on Tuesday ( a wet day unfortunately ) but he came prepared with wellies etc as he is a sailing man and used to getting wet, he also sent a letter of thanks.
Hugh Adams (also from the WCB) attended on Thursday, a better day with sunshine.
Eric and Margaret White.
